Frisk – Riesling 7 Muscat Gourdo, It’s a mouth-revving Riesling with a bite that sings with mountain-stream purity, quartz-like acidity coming right at you, bold and unapologetic. You may see notes of lemon sorbet, bath salts and white lilies layered with spices from your favorite childhood pie shop…guess that depends on your childhood. But you can’t deny its raciness and versatility, sidling up suggestively to food that’s both sweet and spicy. Its intensity will slap you in the face; the oodles of length will have you scrambling for more.
The Stump Jump Shiraz – 90 Pts WS, #82 of top 100 of 2009, Ripe and open-textured, this is impressive for the way it packs in the cherry, blackberry and raspberry flavors and keeps its foot on the gas pedal through the mineral-inflected finish. Drink now through 2018.
John Duval Plexus – 90 Pts WS, Bright and jazzy, with a smoky edge to the tart blackberry and cherry flavors, picking up a licorice note on the finish. Has complexity and balance, and cellaring should bring it all together. Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre.
Innocent Bystander Pink Moscato – Delicate and appealing for its subtly perfumed watermelon and rhubarb flavors, finishing lightly sweet.

Tempra Tantrum

– Tempranillo & Shiraz, This lush red excites the palate with warm, expressive flavors of chocolate, cherry and spice from the Shiraz, balanced by Tempranillo’s classic blackberry and plum notes. Bold yet nicely fruity with soft tannins and spice accents.
Maximo Tempranillo – With a deep, cherry red color, the wine shows aromas of plums and red berries with tobacco and vanilla notes. In the mouth, the wine has a vibrant, velvety and sweet character, with red fruits and licorice and mint traces, and soft tannins.
Ramon Bilbao Crianza – Bright, deep, cherry-red. Intense aromas of ripe black berries to the nose accompanied with balsamic touches which are reminiscent of coconut and liquorice. It is fresh and pleasant in the mouth with a noticeable texture where the smokey and fruit assembled nuances reappear. Long and enfolding finish.
Bai Gorri Reserva – Dark concentrated cherry red wine, lively and potent in nose with leather, liquorice and black pepper aromas. The primary compote fruit aromas are maintained. Balance between its tannins and acidity. A full body with an elegant bitter finish.

Su Yuen Riesling – Composed of 100% Riesling grapes grown in the cool climate of Monterey County, the juice is fermented in stainless steel until the wine achieves an off-dry level of sweetness. This wine offers beautiful aromas of tropical fruit and ginger, a crisp, refreshing edge of green apples and minerals, and lush, juicy flavors of pineapple, peaches and lime.
Director’s Cut Chardonnay – Using only Russian River Valley fruit, we crush the grapes whole-cluster and ferment entirely in French oak barrels to produce a wine with a seductive, round texture and notes of sweet vanilla. This technique also serves to highlight the green apple, honeysuckle and citrus flavors, which are the hallmark of Russian River vineyards.
Director’s Cut Cabernet Sauvignon – The Director's Cut Cabernet delivers enticing aromas of cola, cherry, and eucalyptus before revealing flavors of dark, rich berries, cassis and black cherries, which is typical of fruit grown in the renowned Alexander Valley.
Cinema - 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Zinfandel, 12% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petite Sirah, This wine has tremendous depth due to the excellent phenolic development of the fruit. Although it is extremely expressive now, the concentration and solid tannin structure will allow it to mature nicely over time. Those who are fans of Super Tuscans will enjoy the spicy, full-bodied nature of this wine as well as the rich, dark berry fruit impressions, which are layered with flavors of raspberries, cherries, cloves and cigar box.

South African Wines with Lori from Young’s Market Company
$15.00 Tasting includes four wines and a small appetizer.

Kanu Chenin Blanc – Pale straw colour. Intriguing nose of green melon, nectarines and honeysuckle contrasting with a more savoury celery salt character. Playful spiciness lingers in the background. A broad mid-palate underpinned by a lively apply acid structure. Lifted floral notes make this wine multidimensional in character.
Jam Jar Red – This fresh, fruity, semi-sweet Shiraz aims to fill that void. Most of the grapes are grown in Paarl, a region with a Rhône-like climate that is ideal for Shiraz cultivation, and production is overseen by critically acclaimed winemaker Bruwer Raats.
Kanonkop Pinotage – 90 Pts Wine Spectator, This red combines the dark, briary edge of the grape with rich, ripe plum sauce and notes of crushed currant and fig. A licorice snap note lingers nicely on the plush finish.
Excelsior Cabernet Sauvignon - Medium-weight, with a mix of red and black cherry, herb and toast notes. Contains 8 percent Syrah and 2 percent Petit Verdot.
